ArgoShip integrates all business phases and it manages strategic operations of the company allowing considerable advantages to be obtained as regards efficiency and optimization of operational costs.

SOFTWARE ARCHITECTURE
ArgoShip is an application software based on a client/server architecture, the reference platform is Microsoft.Net with Visual Studio 2008 as the development environment and C# as the programming language.

• Oracle database is the database used for the system architecture
• Oracle Data Access is used to access data in client/server
• Web services are used to access data from web

Data access logic is implemented via stored procedures allowing data update logic to be optimized thus resulting in better performances for the system.

Argoship software has been designed and developed particularly for tramp shipping companies and it is an integrated information system whose main objective is to meet real needs of operators in the shipping industry covering all the typical processes of such a sector.
Such information system consists of integrated modules, whose main feature is the integrated management of all the resources involved in the creation of company services. Each module controls the processes of a specific department of the company (administration, management control, sales, etc.), while the core of the software retrieves information from the central unit, namely the database and, such information is shown to the user referring to a specific interface.

The system is based on a single database, which is the repository of all company data, which are available to each corporate function with personalized logical views.

A characteristic feature of the software is the complete integration of functions, allowing users to add information within their respective areas of responsibility, completing data already provided in the system, thus increasing operational efficiency and information reliability.
In order to get the best from use of technological innovations and to ensure scalability properties, the system has been designed according to a client-server architecture using Microsoft .NET as the reference platform.

Services related to software platform
Such services relate to the creation of the information system of the Client and include consulting services, such as the analysis of user requirements, the setting of the reference model, the implementation of the information system, and programming services such as for example the software customization and the creation of interfaces for the connection with other systems.

Services related to the technological platform
CAP has the necessary technological skills providing consulting services about architectures and hardware platform hosting the system, in addition to provide system services for the installation and operation of the technological platform.
The hardware platform necessary for hosting the information system of the client company and the associated operational management services may be directly supplied or as an alternative may be supplied as outsourced solutions, in order to guarantee the Client a continuous operation and maintenance of the system.
This approach allows the Client company not to pay attention to technical problems concerning the system management and communication infrastructure, all such activities being carried out by a specialized body operating according to specific service levels, so that the Client company can focus on its business processes.
With reference to such a type of service, the software application is provided by internet network, with an outsourcing contract of all components necessary to use the system. Thus costs for purchasing the hardware are not charged to the Client, since the Client hires the service from the supplier and expenses charged to the Client are proportional to the actual use of the service. This approach often overcomes problems related to the conventional approach, in the past only large enterprises could afford advanced information systems, but now, thanks to this approach,  also medium enterprises can rely on advanced information systems .

User training
In order to reach suitable levels of autonomy and in order to have a fully operational system, training tools for the Client have been defined, such as process-oriented Stages allowing training time to be minimized by using the system with specifically defined test-cases.
